Dear Alyssa,
I would like to apply for the Merchandise Planning Manager position posted on your website.
I have 5 years of experience forecasting demand and planning inventory for kitchenware importer Progressive International, plus 3 years of operations modeling and planning for apparel retailer Eddie Bauer.
For years I have lived and died by Access queries, Excel vlookups, and ERP systems. If a real-world situation can be described, I can use software to model it, simulate it, and forecast it.
So I’ve done forecasting and planning work before, but I’ve also done purchasing from Asia, ecommerce marketing, and communications coaching. Since I am flexible and my skills are varied, I’d be well-equipped to grow with the company as its needs evolve.
Three things in particular have me really wanting to come to work for Magellan’s: First, I love the products, and travel has been an important part of my life for years. Second, I like working in multi-channel retailing, especially ecommerce, because it is an exciting and rapidly-growing business. And third, my wife and I both love the Santa Barbara area and would like to move back there (we’ve been in Istanbul, Turkey, for the past six years).
Attached please find my resume. Thank you for your consideration, I hope to hear from you soon!
Best regards,
Matt Krause
