Today is for Milk Dud

This is from yesterday, but my internet connection wasn’t too hot yesterday. Readers of A Tight Wide-open Space will recognize Milk Dud as one of the factors that brought me to Turkey the first time in 2003. He has since passed away, bless his...

How’s your foot?

Regular readers of this blog have been asking how my foot’s doing. I hurt it about a month ago and it delayed my entry into Denizli. My foot’s doing fine now, thanks. The week of resting in Egirdir did wonders, but the main thing that helped it was...

Don’t get me wrong

I may be posting a lot of photos about how beautiful it is out here and talking about how I can’t even walk a mile without someone loading me down with fruit, but don’t get me wrong – it’s not like I’m surfing an ocean of love out here. I...

This one’s for my dad

After almost twenty miles of apple orchards this was the first one I saw using training wires.

Ridge fading away

In Gelendost tonight

Am in Gelendost tonight. Internet connectivity on eastern side of lake is about zero, so photos and stuff will have to wait.

Downloading original photos for printing

A few people like some of the photos and asked how they could download the original higher-resolution photos — for printing, scrapbooks, etc. The originals are stored on Flickr. Almost all of them are 4000 pixels by 3000 pixels, which is large enough for a...

A road photo

Oh it was so beautiful today, what did I do to deserve even more of this tomorrow?

This was my day today

Some days I ask myself how I got so lucky. Today walking along the lake was one of those days.

Egirdir or Wenatchee?

All morning long I’ve been thinking, "Is this Egirdir, or north of Wenatchee along the Columbia?"
