This morning’s task was to find a 3 km stretch (3+3=6 km round trip) where I could run for half an hour concentrating only on my feet and the surface in front of me. Important: no vehicular cross traffic; early morning access; hard surface (no soft grass). Fresh air a big plus.

Reason: build some particular muscles back up and work on my form. Both are important for walking or running long distances, but go to pot unless I run barefoot a few times a week.

Bonus: this particular route ends with a 2km climb back up to Hacıosman, passing some very nice gardens and nurseries. The climb is runnable barefoot or shod.

Another bonus: scenery rocks.
