A big thanks goes out to recent Kickstarter backers for pushing the Kickstarter campaign to 72% of its goal, with about three weeks to go.
(A few of my backers backed the project outside the normal Kickstarter channels, and it’ll take a few more days for their contributions to show up in the Kickstarter numbers.)
Words can’t describe how nice it’s been to celebrate the end of my first week on the road with 24 hours in a hotel. The physical and mental rest is going to send me into week 2 fresh, rather than running on fumes right from the start.
The advantages of that kind of periodic rest break will be immense in the second half of this trip, when the Kickstarter money comes into play.
So if you have been enjoying the posts, but have not yet contributed to the Kickstarter campaign, please consider doing so.
The most popular backer level remains the $50 one, but there are options on Kickstarter for $1, $5, and $15. Every little bit helps. Kickstarter/Amazon will not charge your card until the funding window closes on 30 September, and only then if the project raises $3900 or more.
Thanks again everyone for all your support, whether you are a Kickstarter backer or not. Since the start of the walk the daily traffic to this website has shot up 10 times, and I am getting tons of supportive phone calls, texts, emails, and even face-to-face encouragement. For a long time I’ve wanted to do something that few people are able to do, but lots of people would get value out of, and I am so glad to have found that.
