Monday morning on the road through a village called Karadiken I spotted Yunus and his family making yulafli bread.
I stopped by to say hello and have a chat. Yunus is a farmer growing apricots, olives, and a few grapes.
He and his wife, shown here holding one of their grandchildren, also named Yunus, have five children and have been married 30 years. Their children have spread out to nearby cities like Konya and Mut.
Yunus and his brood got a big kick out of me telling them I had been married to a Turk, and they got an even bigger kick out of me telling them I would marry another one.
Yunus, at his wife’s suggestion, went inside to grab some cheese, which they then rolled up into two of these yulafli breads for me for breakfast. Thank you Yunus and family, elinize saglik (health to your hands)!
