I stopped by to say a quick hello to the traffic cops just outside Mut, in a village called Palantepe.
Like it did a few weeks ago in Icericumra, my quick hello turned into a couple hours hanging out at the precinct station.
How could I resist, what with the cops plying me with food (tantuni, a durum-like burrito filled with kebap meat, tomatoes, peppers, and more) and ayran, plus many cups of tea, and a hot shower?
When I left the station the cops handed me a plastic bag filled with a couple kilos of raisins, apples, and bananas.
Shown here in front of the station are Ahmet, me, and Beytullah. Taner was working the camera.
By the way, Taner got married 10 days ago, to a nurse he met while at the hospital. Way to work it, Taner, congratulations!
