Me on the left, Ismail on the right, and one of Ismail’s friends in the middle. I had met Ismail earlier in the week, at the auto repair shop, on my walk out of Konya. Ismail is the guy I overheard telling others in the restaurant about my walk, and who introduced me around the restaurant.
This was a "small world" moment. Konya is a city of a million people, and Ismail and I had met on the south side, and the bus station is on the north side. There have been other "small world" moments on the walk, like when I’ve met people at gas stations I had met elsewhere days or weeks before.
