Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s Prime Minister, is coming to Denizli today. His route into town is the same one I’m walking out of town on, so there are lots of cops on the road today. I just sat in the shade having tea with some of them.
This was my first time hanging out with cops. They asked me the same questions almost everyone else I meet asks me: what is your name, where are you from, and what is your salary.
